La Cabane Marbella: The Los Monteros Beach Club, Explained

La Cabane is the beach club with the longest story on the Marbella coast. It has been on the sand at Los Monteros since 1965, and 2025 was its 60th season. Today it's the signature beach club of the Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella hotel, run since 2023 by Grupo Mosh and Grupo Dani García, in a setting designed by Dolce & Gabbana. If you're after a long Mediterranean lunch by the sea rather than a pool party, read on. And mind the timing: it's a summer venue, and it's October.
Is La Cabane open now?
La Cabane works on a summer season and doesn't publish its dates, neither the end of the 2026 season nor the start of 2027. Treat it as closed through the autumn and winter and plan your visit for next season. Once the 2027 dates are out you'll know where you stand; until then, don't drive out to Los Monteros on the off chance.
What a day there is like
La Cabane is a restaurant and a beach club, and the restaurant half matters. The kitchen follows a menu by Michelin-starred chef Dani García, the cooking is Mediterranean and the tables look out to sea. The day tends to be built around lunch: a long meal, then time by the water. It feels more like a classic Marbella beach lunch brought up to date than a party venue. The setting, branded La Câbane by Dolce & Gabbana, is a big part of the draw, and people come as much to sit in it as to eat.

Who it suits
La Cabane suits people for whom lunch is the main event: couples, families with older kids, groups of friends who want to eat well and linger over a drink, and Kimpton guests who simply walk down to the sand. It also suits anyone staying on the east side of Marbella who would rather not cross town to Puerto Banús. It suits less if you want a big DJ day by a pool; for that, look at Ocean Club, Naô or Mogli.

La Cabane doesn't publish prices that we can quote here, and availability changes a lot between a weekday and a summer Saturday. Ask before you set your heart on a date.
How to get there
La Cabane is on Calle Jabalí, 29603 Marbella, at the Kimpton Los Monteros hotel on the east side of Marbella. From the town centre you head east along the coast; from Puerto Banús or the Golden Mile you cross the whole of Marbella. A taxi is the simple option, and it means nobody has to skip the wine at lunch. If you're staying at the Kimpton, it's right there.
What to wear
La Cabane doesn't publish a dress code. Given the setting and the kitchen, dress for a smart beach lunch: linen, a good shirt or a summer dress over swimwear, and sandals you're happy to be seen in. You won't need party wear here, but sportswear will feel out of place.
Our honest take
La Cabane is for the long lunch, not the long party. Sixty seasons on the same beach, a starred chef's menu and a designer setting add up to one of the more grown-up days on the coast. If that's your idea of a beach club, put it on the list for summer 2027 and book weekends early.
