Where to Go Out in Marbella: The Nightlife Areas Explained
· Updated:
The main nightlife in Marbella is in Puerto Banús, which has the most clubs close together, and on the Golden Mile, where the venues are restaurants that turn into clubs. The rest is spread out: Taok in the town centre, Fitz at Río Verde, Starlite up in the Nagüeles quarry and the beach clubs along the coast. Puerto Banús is part of Marbella, in the Nueva Andalucía district, and it's also the area that keeps the most going in winter.
The areas in one table
| Area | Venues | What it's like | In winter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puerto Banús (Nueva Andalucía) | TIBU, Newscafé, Vudu; Pangea, Mirage and Ocean Club in summer | Clubs within walking distance of each other around the marina | TIBU, Newscafé and Vudu stay open |
| Golden Mile | Momento, Motel Particulier, NYX (Puente Romano); Bonbonniere on the Istán road in summer | Dinner that turns into a club | Momento, Motel Particulier and NYX |
| Marbella centre | Taok | The most local club, on Avenida del Mar | Open Wednesday to Sunday |
| Río Verde | Fitz | Club on the N-340, next to Puerto Banús | Weekends in autumn 2026, full season in summer |
| Nagüeles | Starlite | Concert festival in an old quarry, then a club | Closed until summer 2027 |
| Elviria and Los Monteros | Nikki Beach, La Cabane | Daytime beach clubs east of the centre | Closed for the season |
Puerto Banús
If you only know one name, it's Puerto Banús. TIBU sits on Plaza Antonio Banderas and says it opens every night; Newscafé is on the front line of the marina, open seven days a week; and Vudu, in the Gray D'Albion building, is a dinner show rather than a club. In summer the list grows with Pangea on the Club de Mar rooftop, Mirage at the entrance roundabout and Ocean Club by day. It's the easiest area for a night where you change venue without getting in a taxi.

Is Puerto Banús part of Marbella?
Yes. Puerto Banús belongs to the municipality of Marbella, in the Nueva Andalucía district, and the clubs there give their address as Nueva Andalucía, 29660 Marbella. It's a separate area from the town centre and the old town, which is why people talk about 'Marbella or Banús' as if they were two places. For a night out, they are: the centre has Taok and bars, while Banús has the cluster of clubs.
The Golden Mile
The Golden Mile, between Marbella town and Puerto Banús, is where the night starts with dinner. Momento in Villa Parra goes from restaurant to club around midnight; Motel Particulier in Marbellamar is open every day from 19:30 to 03:00 with a restaurant, a night club and a Red Room; and NYX is a speakeasy-style club hidden inside Puente Romano, open Wednesday to Saturday until 04:00. In summer, Bonbonniere opens on the Istán road just above it.

Marbella centre and the old town
The centre is quieter for clubbing. Taok, on Avenida del Mar near the seafront, is the club here, open Wednesday to Sunday all year with a Latin and commercial sound and an 18+ door. The old town itself is more about bars and restaurants than clubs. If you're staying in the centre, Taok is walkable and everything else is a taxi.

Río Verde, Nagüeles and the beach clubs
Two of Marbella's best-known names sit on their own. Fitz is at km 175 of the N-340 in Río Verde, right next to Puerto Banús, open from midnight to about 6am in summer. Starlite is in the Nagüeles quarry, at the top of the Golden Mile, and you get there by taxi or with the festival's parking and shuttles. Both are closed until summer 2027. The beach clubs are spread along the coast, from Ocean Club in Puerto Banús to Nikki Beach in Elviria, and they're daytime venues that also close for the winter.
Which area is open in winter
From October to May, Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile carry the night: TIBU, Newscafé and Vudu in the port, and Momento, Motel Particulier and NYX on the Golden Mile, with Taok in the centre. Río Verde, Nagüeles and the beach clubs go quiet until summer. A new club, CLOUD.9, opens in Nueva Andalucía on 23 October.
Where to stay for a night out
It depends on how you like to end the night. Staying in or near Puerto Banús means you can walk between clubs and home, which is the big advantage on a busy summer night. The Golden Mile suits a dinner-then-club plan, but you'll still taxi between venues. The town centre is better if you want an old-town base with bars and Taok, and you're happy to taxi to Banús. For Fitz, Puerto Banús or Nueva Andalucía are the closest bases; for Starlite, plan the taxi or shuttle whatever you choose.
Getting between areas
Taxis are the default. Marbella's clubs are spread along the coast, so apart from walking within Puerto Banús or within the old town, you'll be in a car between areas. Agree a meeting point with your group before the night gets late, and if you're heading to Starlite, factor in the shuttle back down to the taxi queue.
